National Marina Day is Today. Enjoy the Pristine Gulf Beaches

With summer less than two weeks from “officially” starting, many have already begun to enjoy the sun and fun that has always been associated with the beautiful Florida beaches and water. The beaches of West Central Florida and Southwest Florida remain pristine and oil-free, and we encourage you and your family to make the most of the beautiful weather and the plethora of opportunities that surround us here in the Tampa Bay area.

Saturday is National Marina Day, with many local marinas hosting events that showcase the excitement of boating and other activities geared toward boating safety and family fun. A list of Florida marinas that are participating tomorrow can be found here. Many people mistakenly believe that all of the Gulf beaches have been sullied by the BP Oil Spill, but this is simply not true. Our Tampa Bay economy depends on a strong tourism sector, and we can all do our part by telling friends and family that our beaches are still beautiful and open for business.

Before you and your family head out to the water this summer, please read previous safety articles we have posted: Tips about avoiding dangerous rip currents and undertow; and Boating safety tips. Safety should always be your first concern when enjoying the water and sun, and sometimes others neglect to use common sense. If you or a loved one is hurt in a boating accident, the experienced boat accident lawyers at Perenich The Law Firm can help you hold the negligent party responsible. Being on the water is supposed to be a fun and enjoyable experience, and we hope that others act responsibly too.
