Supreme Court Rules Against Parents in Vaccine Case

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled against the parents of a child who suffered seizures and developmental disorders after being vaccinated. The parents sued the vaccine manufacturer, Wyeth, owned by Pfizer Inc. for personal injuries sustained by their daughter as an infant.

By a vote of 6-2, the Supreme Court upheld a 1986 law that created an internal system for vaccine manufacturers to compensate the families of children harmed by their products to limit lawsuits similar to this one.  More…
