That your insurance company doesn’t want you to know.

  1. Take Pictures before you move your car!
    • If you can do it safely, take pictures of your car and the other cars that were involved after the accident BEFORE they are moved. Having evidence of where the cars came to rest can often help prove the severity of the crash as well as fault.
  2. If you believe you may be hurt see an EMERGENCY medical doctor immediately.
    • Insurance companies have made it harder and harder to get the treatment you deserve. You must seek treatment from a qualified “Emergency Medical” physician to be eligible for the insurance YOU PAY FOR!
  3. Take pictures of any other physical evidence that you see.
    • If you have a cut or bruising to any part of your body, road conditions and weather, evidence or lack of evidence of the other driver braking (skid marks on the pavement) get a picture when you’re there because it won’t be there later.
  4. Call the Police
    • Don’t trust anyone that just exchanging information is good enough. If they don’t want you to call the police they are probably hiding something!
  5. Make an accurate record of the accident.
    • Write down, text, or even  call yourself and leave a voice-mail with all of the details of the accident that you can think of. The longer you wait the harder it will be to remember everything. Also, make sure to include witness names and phone numbers.
